Arsenal Tracking German Player Of The Year thumbnail

Arsenal are reported to have started negotiations with Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg over the signing of German player of the year Edin Dzeko. It is understood that Wolfsburg have demanded £12million for the Bosnian striker, however, the price could go up as Manchester City are also interested in the player. Arsenal could lure the player with the promise of Champions League football. The 23-year-old striker scored 26 goals in 32 appearances for the German side last season. Arsenal’s chief scout Steve Rowley has been monitoring his performance for quite some time now. Although Wolfsburg are under no financial pressures, as they have the backing of German automobile giant Volkswagon, Arsenal’s bid would surely be tempting for them. If Arsenal do go ahead and sign him, the futures of several Arsenal strikers would be in doubt, most notably that of emmanuel Adebayor. Adebayor has courted interest of AC Milan in the recent past and although his agent has denied that he would be moving to Italy, Arsenal would most likely go ahead and cash him for close to £20 million.
