If reports are to be believed, Arsenal have completed the signing of Belgian international and Ajax centre back Thomas Vermaelen for £ 10 million. The club are expected to officially confirm the news within 48 hours. Surprisingly, Tony Adams had recently said that he had watched Vermaelen play in the Dutch league and although impressed by him, he advised Wenger not to buy him as he was ‘not ready to play for Arsenal.’
