In the latest transfer news for today, Arsenal have yet again been strongly linked with Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. With AC Milan declaring there preference for Luis Fabiano, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s chances of moving to Italy have become dim. The 25-year-old Real Madrid player is said to be weighing his options, with French club Marseilles expressing their interest. There were reports a couple of days ago that Arsenal were enquiring about both Huntelaar and Salomon Kalou. It is understood that the talks between the Dutchman’s representatives and Arsenal have advanced. With Arsene Wenger revealing last week that Emmanuel Adebayor could leave the club if he wanted to, it seems that the Togolese would be shipped off to Milan and Huntelaar brought in as a replacement. Meanwhile, the deal for Fiorentina’s Felipe Melo seems to have fallen apart, as Juventus have offered to pay close to €21 million plus Marco Marchionni in exchange for the Brazilian. Arsenal are now reported to have turned their attention to Gokhan Inler, who plays for Udinese in Serie A.
